What is a zine?
A zine is a small-batch, self-published, non-profit collaborative magazine made by fans and artists of a specific fandom. The term ‘zine’ is short for ‘fanzine’ and is a combination of the words ‘fan’ and ‘magazine.’ Some zines are digital only, some are print only. Most zines are non-profit, with the proceeds being donated to charity.What is this zine about?
Tales of the Clone Wars is a fanzine celebrating the five-year anniversary of the series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and all of the characters & events within. I.e., the Jedi, the Sith, the Clones, the politicians, the battles, etc. The goal is to have a variety of stories and themes across the seven seasons, rather than being too heavily focused on any one facet, character, group, or event.What kind of content will be in this zine?
Art pieces, short stories & other writing, figure photography, cosplay photography, merchandise, and more. Content including fluff, comedy, friendship, angst, hurt, comfort, whump, injury, loss, and much more. Content is SFW (16+, no smut) with canon-typical level of violence (blood, low level gore, some strong language). Only canon-established relationships will be featured in this zine. No non-canon shipping.Is this zine for-profit or non-profit?
Non-profit. Outside of manufacturing and production costs, all proceeds will go to a charity, which will be decided via a vote by the contributors.Who is creating this zine?
A list of contributors will be linked/posted after the application results have been finalized.Will the zine be digital or physical?
The zine will be both physical and digital, with corresponding merch.What do contributors receive in return for their contribution?
Each contributor will receive a free digital copy of the zine. Based on the sales and production, our hope is to provide a physical copy to contributors as well.Can anyone apply to be a contributor? Is any past zine experience needed?
Anyone can apply, and no experience is needed! We hope to showcase a wide range of stories and content in TCW era and will be reviewing applicants based on the quality of their submissions.Is there a minimum age requirement for contributors?
Contributors must be 16+ years of age.How much will the zine cost? How much is shipping? Do you ship worldwide?
The cost of the zine will depend on the cover size and total page count once fully designed and finalized. Shipping will be determined based on your location, and yes, we will be shipping worldwide.Will the zine allow characters from other SW shows?
If the character appears in any of the seven seasons of TCW, then yes. However, the characters must remain in that era for the final featured pieces. For example, the characters of Clone Force 99 can appear in the zine, but only in the theme/capacity that they appeared in TCW season seven (rather than in their mercenaries/Pabu era that we see in The Bad Batch series).| Other TCW-era content to be explored: |

‘What-if' pitches and ideas within the same SW universe are totally welcome. However, with there being so much content to work with from all seven seasons of TCW, AU pitches that involve a different setting like modern AU, apocalypse AU, fantasy AU, etc, will not be featured in this zine.What merch add-ons will be included?
Exact details of the merch zine bundle are TBA but will likely include things like prints, stickers, pins, keychains, and more.Will the zine feature any comics?
Yes, we plan to have comics as well as other writer/artist collaborations.Are OCs allowed in the zine?
As much as we all love and cherish our SW/TCW OCs, this zine will focus on The Clone Wars era canon characters.Will there be character shipping in this zine?
Shipping (romantic and sexual displays of attraction between characters) is not the main focus of this zine. Brief references to canon relationships will be permitted, but we ask contributors to keep in mind this project is not intended to be a collection of romantic pieces.What is your stance on AI Art/Art Scraping?
Computer generated images and/or writing will NOT be tolerated within the zine or Discord server. Please refrain from sharing any AI created works.
